A long-expected revisit to Middle Earth
What is there to say about Tolkien/LOTR that hasn't been said, really? It's been 20+ years since I revisited this trilogy. So aside from its reputation, legacy, importance to Epic Fantasy as a literary form etc, how does the first book in the trilogy hold up, simply as a reading experience? For the most part, as it turns out, pretty damn well. Not perfect, but still great. Tolkien's prose has a nice flow that keeps the pages turning easily, even throughout the first third or so where the narrative moves at a glacial pace.

Very nice set. Very good price
I read some of the reviews about the quality of the remastered versions. I don't know what kind of player or TV the negative folks have, but mine were all excellent.
